Sharples to KC, Silkowitz to Bay FC
On Wednesday, Bay FC and the Kansas City Current announced that they have traded defender Kayla Sharples and goalkeeper Jordan Silkowitz. The 27-year-old Sharples, who is a native of the Chicago area and played for the Red Stars for five seasons, returns to the Midwest after a half-season for Bay FC. Sharples played in 15 of 17 matches for Bay FC this year, starting 12 of those matches.
Bay FC transferred $15,000 in allocation money for the 24-year-old Silkowitz, who has yet to feature in an NWSL match, but did play in 19 matches for the Brisbane Roar while on loan. Silkowitz and Bay FC are expected to agree to a contract extension. (Bay FC press release, Current press release)
