Week 3 of the 2025 National Women’s Soccer League feature two matches between undefeated teams:
- On Saturday, at high noon (local time) on ESPN and ESPN+, the reigning NWSL Champion, the Orlando Pride, hosts the San Diego Wave. The Pride are in first place after winning its first two matches, while the Wave are currently fourth after a draw and a win.
- Then, on Sunday, the final match of the week is on CBS Sports Network at 8:00 p.m. EDT, Angel City, which has two points after two draws, faces the Seattle Reign, which has four points via a draw and a win.
The Prime Video match on Friday could see Bay FC forward Tess Boade playing against her younger sister, Washington Spirit midfielder Meg Boade, who was called into the upcoming United States U-23 camp.
Also on Friday, the Houston Dash, which acquired Yazmeen Ryan and Delanie Sheehan during the offseason, will welcome those players’ former club, Gotham FC. A result for the Dash would be a statement that the revamped team is a contender for a playoff spot. Meanwhile, 12th place Gotham needs a victory in order to move out of the bottom six.
Saturday’s ION doubleheader starts with the Kansas City Current hosting the Utah Royals and concludes with two teams that are both looking for their first win of the season: The Portland Thorns and North Carolina Courage.
The earlier match on Sunday involves two of the three lowest-ranked teams, with the last-place Chicago Stars hosting Racing Louisville, which won both its matches against the then Red Stars in 2024.
Just three matches this week are available via either a free streaming service (NWSL+) or a free streaming channel (ION). At least two matches can be watched via a paid streaming service (Prime Video and ESPN+). Both of Sunday’s matches will be shown on the CBS Sports Network channel, which is only available via a TV service provider (cable/satellite/digital/etc.). Though, according to the CBS Sports Network website (see below image), the match between Angel City and the Seattle Reign will also be available via Paramount+. However, as of Wednesday night, that match is not listed on Paramount+’s NWSL page.

Notes
The ION channel is available on most standard cable and satellite packages. It can also be streamed free via a number of different streaming platforms (ION TV help page).
For those in the USA, matches shown on CBS Sports Network may not have a standalone streaming alternative. Thus to view matches that will be shown on CBS Sports Network, one will need to have a TV service provider package that includes the CBS Sports Network channel.
The full schedule is available as a Google Sheets document (last updated on 4-Feb-2025).
The NWSL’s official schedule is at https://www.nwslsoccer.com/schedule/regular-season.
NWSL referee assignments are published each Wednesday during the season on the Professional Referee Organization (“PRO”) website: https://proreferees.com/category/assignments/nwsl-assignments/. At the present time, the PRO website is not optimized. Individual articles can be slow to load.
