Week Eight of the National Women’s Super League’s 2025 season begins Friday night on Prime Video with #11 Racing Louisville hosting #4 Gotham FC. Then, at 10:00 p.m. EDT, #8 Angel City will take on the #13 Utah Royals (NWSL+ and others).
On Saturday, the first match of the day will see #5 Washington Spirit playing the last-place Chicago Stars in a nationally televised match on ABC at 12:50 p.m. EDT.
Saturday night’s ION doubleheader should be must-see-TV. The earlier match features the North Carolina Courage, who are on a two-match win streak, taking on the Orlando Pride, who have lost two straight matches. The doubleheader closes with the marquee match of the week: The #3 San Diego Wave hosts the #5 Portland Thorns. A victory for the Wave could see them at the top of the table, if the Pride lose their match.
Sunday also begins with a nationally televised match: The Kansas City Current, who are still at the top of the table despite losing their last two matches, will attempt to right their proverbial ship against Bay FC on ESPN at high noon, local time (1:00 p.m. EDT).
The final match of the weekend will see the #7 Seattle Reign host the #12 Houston Dash.
All seven matches this weekend can be streamed live.
In addition to Saturday night’s ION doubleheader, two other matches will be televised. Those two matches, which will be on ABC and ESPN, respectively, can also be watched via a paid streaming service, ESPN+, with both English and Spanish commentary. The ION channel is available via free streaming services such as Tubi (tubitv.com) and PlutoTV (pluto.tv).
Two matches will stream for free on NWSL+. The only match that has to be watched via a paid streaming service this weekend is Friday’s Prime Video match, between Racing Louisville and Gotham FC.

Notes
- Rank calculation only includes the top three tie-breakers: (1) Goal Difference, (2) Number of Wins, and (3) Goals Scored. (source: 2025 Competition Rules)
- The next two tie-breakers are (4) Head-to-Head Points and (5) Head-to-Head Goals Scored. If the teams are still tied, then (6) a Disciplinary Points Coefficient is used. If teams cannot be separated based on the above criteria, the final method is (7) a Coin Flip or Drawing of Lots.
- The top eight teams qualify for the post-season tournament.
Notes
The ION channel is available on most standard cable and satellite packages. It can also be streamed free via a number of different streaming platforms (ION TV help page).
Matches aired on CBS may not be available in all local markets, as the local affiliate may sometimes show another sporting event.
For those in the USA, matches shown on CBS Sports Network may not have a standalone streaming alternative. Thus to view matches that will be shown on CBS Sports Network, one will need to have a TV service provider package that includes the CBS Sports Network channel.
The full schedule is available as a Google Sheets document (last updated on 17-Apr-2025).
