USWNT Olympic Opponent Watch: Colombia – June Camp Roster

On Tuesday, Colombia released the roster for its June training camp (, in Spanish). From the previous camp, only one player was cut, goalkeeper Paula Forero Cabrera. This current roster is essentially all the players in the final mix for the Olympics, along with midfielder Yoreli Rincon, who is still with her club in Brazil. Rincon will join the team sometime this month.

Thirteen of the twenty-two players have American collegiate connections, including ten who are current players for college teams.

In an article at (in Spanish), head coach Ricardo Rozo confirmed that Rincon would be part of the team. He also mentioned the possibility of the two friendlies with Brazil, which are still to be confirmed (translated quote):

Will they have any international exposure before traveling to London? “In June we will have, yet to be confirmed two matches against Brazil, but initially we were not told anything, the parties are spoken, but do not know an exact date. We will also very possibly play a pre-Olympic tournament in July for girls to have a better warmup. “

Also, two corrections to a previous post: (1) Alexis Hermosa (Stetson University, 2008-2011) was not included on the earlier, updated roster, and thus is no longer in contention for the Olympics; meanwhile (2) Nataly Arias was on that updated roster, and continues to be in contention for the Olympics.
