CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Championship Draw to be Held Sunday

The draw for CONCACAF’s Women’s Under-17 Championship will be held this Sunday in Miami, Florida.

Host Guatemala has been placed in Group A. Mexico has been placed in Group B, while the other two North American teams, USA and Canada have been placed in the same pot. USWNT Rival Watch: Brazil WNT Training Camp Roster Includes 5 U-20 Players

Jorge Barcellos has called up 25 players for a camp from February 24th to March 8th. These are mostly, if not all Brazil-based players as regulars such as Cristiane and Fabiana remain in Europe. Marta is not listed, either. I’m not sure where she is: Either she’s training some place else or was given a rest pass.

Notably, the roster includes U-20 standout forward Thaisnha, who scored 7 or 6 goals in the recent CONMEBOL U-20 women’s championship in Brazil. (I’ve yet to find a final, official tally, hence the uncertainty.
