USWNT Olympic Opponent Watch: Colombia – June Camp Roster

On Tuesday, Colombia released the roster for its June training camp (ColFutbol.org, in Spanish). From the previous camp, only one player was cut, goalkeeper Paula Forero Cabrera. This current roster is essentially all the players in the final mix for the Olympics, along with midfielder Yoreli Rincon, who is still with her club in Brazil. Rincon will join the team sometime this month.

Opponent Watch: Sweden’s Roster For Friendlies Versus the USA and Japan

On Tuesday, Sweden released its 22-player roster for its two friendly matches versus the United States and Japan, as part of the Volvo Winners Cup, which it will host in mid-June. There were no surprise inclusions, but Sweden’s injury woes since the 2011 Women’s World Cup has forced several changes to the team’s starting line-up, especially on its back line.

U-17 USWNT: June Camp Roster – 26 Called In

On Monday, US Soccer released the roster for the U-17 USWNT’s June camp, which runs from June 9th to the 16th. Twenty-six players were called in, including all twenty from CONCACAF qualifying. The only new face is midfielder Jaye Boissiere of the MVLA Lightning ( Los Altos Hills, California). Olympics: Brazil’s June Training Camp Roster

Earlier today, Jorge Barcellos announced Brazil’s June training camp roster (CBF.com.br). From the 25 players called into the camp, 18 will make the official Olympic roster, while up to 4 will be included as alternates. The official roster should be announced at the end of June. USWNT Olympic Opponent Watch: Colombia – Updated May Camp Roster

ColFutbol.org has posted a news item with a slightly different roster for its current camp. From the previous roster, three players were added, Liana Salazar and Ingrid Vidal, who both play collegiately for the University of Kansas Jayhawks (Salazar’s profile, Vidal’s profile), plus Florida native Catalina Perez (Team Boca; Boca Raton), who was a back-up goalkeeper for Colombia at the 2010 U-20 Women’s World Cup. Not included on the roster were Nataly Arias (U. of Maryland, 2004-2008) and the hard-to-find-info-on Kena Romero. USWNT: May Camp Roster – Christen Press Unable to Attend, Two New Faces

US Soccer released the roster of players called into the USWNT’s next camp, which will be held in New Jersey, from May 10th to the 25th, prior to the team’s friendly versus China, which is on May 27th. Twenty-eight players were called up, including first-timers Adrianna Franch (goalkeeper) and Gina Lewandowski (centerback). Not included in the roster is Christen Press who was invited (per her interview in this video), but was presumably not released by her club, K/Göteborg FC. CONCACAF WU-17: Mexico’s Final Roster (2012)

Earlier today (Friday, April 27th), the USA’s final group stage opponent, Mexico, released its final roster for the CONCACAF Women’s Under-17 Championship, which begins on May 2nd. Of the 20 players rostered, 11 play for American club teams, including 10 who were born in the United States.

From the previous roster, six player were cut, including five who played for American club teams. The six players cut were Elisa Martin (goalkeeper), Stephanie Alcazar (defender), Maria Solis (defender), Paola Urbieta (defender), Anahie Duran (midfielder), and Micaela Estrada (midfielder). USWNT: Late April Training Camp Roster Includes Christen Press

On Friday, US Soccer announced the roster of players who have been invited to a training camp which runs from April 18th to April 30th in Florida. Twenty-seven players were invited, including all 23 players who traveled to Portugal, for the Algarve Cup, and Japan, for the Women’s Kirin Challenge Cup. Additional players invited to the camp include goalkeeper Jill Loyden; midfielders Kristie Mewis (the only player still in college) and Keelin Winters; and forward Christen Press. U-20 USWNT: April 2012 Camp Roster

(Edit, 10-Apr-2012: It appears that Micaela Capelle tore her MCL during a spring game versus the University of Washington on April 1st, which was a day before the roster was released. So, that seems to be the likely reason for her absence.)

Next week, the United States Under-20 Women’s National Team will be convening at The Home Depot Center for their first camp since qualifying for the 2012 Under-20 Women’s World Cup. (USSoccer.com news release) Twenty-five players will be rostered for the camp, including nineteen of the twenty players from the CONCACAF Championship in Panama. The only player from Panama who is not rostered is forward Micaela Capelle of the University of Portland. During the camp, the team will play two international friendlies versus China’s U-20 WNT.
